Abstract
The internet is increasingly present in the educational processes and the number of people seeking to distance learning as a way to get a degree has grown in Brazil. Hence the need to understand whether the forums a Virtual Learning Community (VLC) can extend the possibilities of collaboration between undergraduate Life Sciences and practicing teachers. For this licentiate in distance education mode and Biological science teachers in schools participated in three forums of a VLC, built on the model of Technological Pedagogical Content knowledge (TPACK) for two interventions, one in 2014 and another in 2015. We analyzed the forums so overall, describing the number of participants and interests, the average posts, the frequency of words and their suitability to TPACK model of each participation. Later the analysis took place with the interactions between teachers and undergraduate accounting for the number of interactions, the contributions these interactions and in which TPACK construct these contributions could be classified. It is noticeable that teachers are more involved, regardless of what topic of TPACK bases are involved and posts in the forums are mostly around the pedagogical knowledge. The interactions between undergraduates and teachers show that both teachers and undergraduates can collaborate in a VLC, showing that in an environment where there is a hierarchy, the flow of knowledge exchange is bidirectional enabling both are mentors and learners in educational processes.
