The condom has taken its preventive role recently with the threat posed by STD (Sexu-ally Transmitted Diseases) and human immunodeficiency virus known as HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus belonging to the class of retroviruses and causes AIDS. The use of condoms was then studied and recommended by various agencies and ministries related to public health. The Division of Non Sterile Product INCQS Department of Microbiology (National Institute for Quality Control in Health / FIOCRUZ) upon receipt of 40 batches of male condoms with 10 units each, which are distributed by the Ministry of Health to the population in the year 2008, totaling 400 samples, analyzed them through microbiological tests in this way to evaluate the microbiological quality, the complaints were received by users of these present with an unpleasant odor. The results showed that 70% of condoms were rated unsatisfactory as the total count of aerobic bacteria and the presence of Enterobacter cloacae, Escherichia coli, Hafnia alvei, Bacillus subitilis, Bacillus brevis, Bacillus megaterium, Bacillus circulans, Bacillus alvei, Bacillus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas sp.
