Abstract
This study presents the development process of a ludic activity prototype in a strategy didactic game format, card-based, for basic immunology teaching, which took place in an extension course organized according to Ausubel‟s Meaningful Learning Theory (MLT). The course was offered to 16 students in the third year of the technical high school nursing course at Unidade de Ensino Descentralizada de Nova Iguaçu, Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica Celso Suckow da Fonseca (CEFET/RJ – UnED NI), in 2009. A set of rules, 115 cards and a card pack were produced according to Game Design, MLT and Immunology referentials; and evaluated by means of questionnaires, interviews, observations and playtests. We observed the game proposal insertion in the course indicated advancement of interaction among the subjects involved in the event of learning, meaning negotiation and share, knowledge consolidation and establishment of relations among previous knowledge and new information presented. We also observed the activity has positively interfered in the students‟ motivation and has permitted the progressive differentiation and the integrative reconciliation of the theme. Our assessment indicates there has been balance between fun and didactic in the game. Therefore, the set of results obtained suggests the product developed has made a ludic and potentially meaningful instructional resource to immunology teaching in the contexts it has been used.
