As ações em Saúde Mental com os Povos Indígenas, surgem no contexto do projeto “Saúde dos Povos Indígenas da Amazônia”, uma parceria entre a FIOCRUZ e o UNICEF, com o apoio das organizações indígenas e do Departamento de Proteção Civil e Ajuda Humanitária da União Europeia (ECHO), buscando mitigar os efeitos e fortalecer ações de recuperação pós-covid nas áreas de vigilância epidemiológica, nutrição, saúde mental e medicina tradicional dos povos indígenas da Amazônia Brasileira. Tem como objetivo capacitar profissionais de saúde, gestores e lideranças comunitárias sobre a atenção, os cuidados e as especificidades em saúde mental com os povos indígenas, buscando respeitar a diversidade étnico-cultural, de saberes e a noção de pessoa inerente a essas populações. Colabora com orientações sobre saberes e reflexões que podem ajudar na construção de ações/intervenções mais coerentes com os territórios e realidades de povos e comunidades indígenas, pois quando falamos com povos que compreendem ser saudável como um estado de Bem-Viver, estamos falando de uma perspectiva ampla que reúne sistemas, cosmologias e cosmovisões que buscam integrar os modos de vida à natureza, seres vivos e encantados. Assim, este material utiliza como eixo transversal a noção de Bem-Viver, enquanto categoria política e de cuidado, permitindo repensar saberes e práticas – construídos historicamente – na direção de aberturas a formas distintas e singulares de existir e viver.
