Center for Disease Control and Prevention dos Estados Unidos da América. A avaliação do
sistema foi excelente quanto à completitude. A simplicidade e flexibilidade sofreram alteração
do agravo.
Resumen en ingles
In 2014, a new febrile illness was recorded in some cities in northeastern Brazil and in April
2015, the presence of genetic material from ZIKV was identified in blood samples taken from
patients with the new febrile illness in Brazil, with Zika Virus being the most common arbovirus. recent in the country. On November 11, 2015, the Ministry of Health declared Public
Health Emergency, recognized by the Pan American Health Organization and the World
Health Organization. As of this year, surveillance of the disease caused by the Zika Virus was
instituted, incorporating other health problems over the years, now called ZSTORCH. The
objective of this work was to evaluate this surveillance system in Minas Gerais - Brazil from
2015 to 2019, following the guidelines for evaluating surveillance systems of the Center for
Disease Control and Prevention in the United States of America. The evaluation of the system
was excellent in terms of completeness and consistency. It is simple and flexible, but with an
increase in the level of complexity as other conditions are included. The definition of a suspected case has undergone adjustments and greater specificity over the years, reflecting the
percentage of cases discarded (645/59%) and 88%/ 968 of the cases with an investigations
closet by april 2020 – good acceptability to the system. In conclusion, there are limitations to
the evaluation and development of health surveillance actions for the disease, but its decentralization allowed for opportune suspicion and investigation of the cases. There is a need for
continuity in the awareness and training of health professionals, in addition to greater integration of those responsible for the flow of information and assistance to patients, as well as improvements in the management bodies to ensure greater quality in the surveillance of the disease.
