Resumen en portugues
Este trabalho busca analisar como foi construída a percepção das mulheres sobre a o câncer de mama e a mamografia no Brasil. Objetivamos compreender como o processo de difusão da idéia de diagnóstico precoce e do risco impactou as mentalidades das mulheres. Nesse aspecto, as políticas públicas e a inserção da tecnologia na saúde pública possuem estreita vinculação com as demandas sociais e as percepções desenvolvidas pelas mulheres acerca do câncer de mama e da mamografia.
Resumen en ingles
This work seeks to analyze how women's perception of breast cancer and mammography was constructed in Brazil. We aim to understand how the process of spreading the idea of early diagnosis and risk impacted women's mentalities. In this aspect, public policies and the insertion of technology in public health are closely linked to social demands and perceptions developed by women about breast cancer and mammography.
