The main goal of this work is to analyse the invention, commercial circulation e medical usage of Água Rabello, a medicine created in 1901 by Antonio José Rabello Junior, owner of Drograria Rabello, located in the city of Parahyba do Norte, presently known as the Paraíba state’s capital, João Pessoa. We think of Água Rabello as a popular/mass medicinal product but equally validated by the “modern” medic/scientific clinical practices from the early XX century. It was actually an herbal medicine with antiseptic properties, however with a large list of recommended uses, which included as intra-body (orally) as well as external applications. It’s composition included medicinal plants, as Aroeira, Hortelã anda Eucalipto, extracts. Our main sources for this work were Água Rabello magazine and newspapers’ advertisements from the years 1902 to 1940. From this advertisement, we analyzed the Água Rabello’s target consumer and recommended uses through its commercialization which overpassed the Paraíba state’s limits. In this work, we also investigate the interchangeability between professional and kin dinamics in Drograria Rabello, as well as its relations to their main products
