Abstract
Inflammation is a response triggered in tissues vascularized against aggressive agents. The product Ferrum phosphoricum 6CH is indicated in the literature in the acute phase of inflammation with vascular and congestive alterations, mainly in the oral cavity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the action of Ferrum phosphoricum 6CH on acute inflammation of rat pulp.: Twenty-seven male rats were divided into 3 groups with 9 specimens each, submitted to pulp inflammation and treated daily according to the following distribution: Group I placebo, Group II received the drug 3 days before and Group III received homeopathic medication remaining in use after inflammatory induction. The dental pulps were obtained post-euthanasia of three rats per day, fixed and stained for histological analysis. The Groups I and II presented high levels of inflammatory intensity on the first day, with a small decrease on the second day and remaining stable on the third day. The Group III, although presenting a high level in the first day, from the second showed a decline of intensity of the picture, reaching the third day with intensity 33% lower. Ferrum phosphoricum 6CH presented anti-inflammatory action in the dental pulps of experimental animals.
