Resumen en portugues
Paulo Freire produziu rupturas no entendimento tradicional de educação ao inserir a realidade vivida como disparador e orientador fundamental do processo educacional. A partir da crítica à educação bancária, promoveu o deslocamento do educando de figura passiva para sujeito de aprendizagem capaz de ler e intervir no mundo, em um contexto marcado pela negação de direitos sociais. Esse movimento se choca com as estruturas dominantes que conformam a sociedade brasileira, marcada pelo capitalismo dependente. A pedagogia de Freire, com sua origem nos anos 1960, foi rechaçada ao se contrapor à lógica autoritária da ditadura civil-militar instaurada em 1964 e o que se observa em tempos atuais é a reposição da crítica à obra de Paulo Freire por parte de grupos com projeto de sociedade pautado no conservadorismo. O presente ensaio tem como objetivo estabelecer relações entre elementos da formação social brasileira e a pedagogia freireana.
