Sob o tema “O papel da Ciência Aberta e Governo Aberto face à pandemia do novo coronavírus (covid-19)”, a Fiocruz promoveu, no dia 18 de junho, o II Encontro Nacional de Ciência Aberta e Governo Aberto, das 14h às 16h. Visto a necessidade de isolamento social como medida de enfrentamento ao novo coronavírus (covid-19), a atividade foi realizada na modalidade webinar. O evento propõe uma reflexão sobre a importância da abertura dos dados no enfrentamento à pandemia e suas perspectivas, barreiras e usos de dados governamentais abertos para a saúde da sociedade. Assim como no primeiro encontro, o objetivo é aproximar as duas perspectivas que estão potencializadas pelo atual cenário de pandemia, em que se torna mais urgente e necessária a atuação conjunta das iniciativas públicas e privadas, o que exige, ainda mais das instituições públicas, uma atuação transparente e aberta à participação social. O webinar contou com a participação da diretora executiva na Open Knowledge Brasil (OKBR), Fernanda Campagnucci, e do coordenador do Programa de Computação Científica da Fiocruz (Procc/Fiocruz), Daniel Villela.
O coordenador de Informação e Comunicação da Fiocruz, Josué Laguardia, foi o mediador do roda de conversa. O pesquisador ressalta a relevância do evento e afirma que “a covid-19 nos faz repensar os modos de se fazer ciência em tempos de pandemia – a comunicação com os pares e as partes interessadas, o compartilhamento e a análise dos dados de pesquisa, assim como o nosso papel como cientistas e cidadãos”. Gratuito e aberto ao público, o webinar foi transmitido pelo canal da Fiocruz no Youtube.
O encontro é resultado das ações da Fiocruz no âmbito do 4º Plano de Ação Brasileiro (2018-2020), da Parceria pelo Governo Aberto (Open Government Partnership – OGP), que tem o compromisso de “estabelecer mecanismos de governança de dados científicos para o avanço da ciência aberta no Brasil”. Além da Fiocruz, compõem a organização do evento: Instituto Brasileiro de Informação em Ciência e Tecnologia (IBICT), Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa), Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) e Rede Nacional de Pesquisa (RNP).
