AVALIAÇÃO DA SUSCEPTIBILIDADE A INSETICIDAS DE MOSQUITOS AEDES (STEGOMYIA) AEGYPTI (LINNAEUS, 1762) (DIPTERA: CULICIDAE) DO MUNICÍPIO DE PEDRO JUAN CABALLERO, PARAGUAI

A primeira epidemia de dengue registrada no Paraguai aconteceu em 1988. A partir de 2015 foram introduzidas outros arbovírus como chikungunya e Zika. O Servicio Nacional de Erradicación del Paludismo (SENEPA), subordinado ao Ministério da Saúde Pública e Previdência Social, é responsável pela vigilância entomológica e controle do vetor Aedes aegypti nos 17 departamentos do país. A cidade de Pedro Juan Caballero apresenta uma história de mais de três décadas de uso de inseticidas como a única estratégia de controle de vetores. Atualmente não há informações sobre a resistência da população de Pedro Juan Caballero aos inseticidas utilizados. Este trabalho tem como objetivo fornecer dados sobre a suscetibilidade de Aedes aegypti ao larvicida temefós e a determinação da frequência de resistência fenotípica aos adulticidas deltametrina e malation. A coleta de ovos foi realizada em todos os bairros da cidade em uma amostra aleatória de residências. Os ovos coletados foram levados para o laboratório de entomologia do SENEPA para contagem, eclosão e criação até a geração F1 Os bioensaios para larvas com temefós foram realizados com base no protocolo da Organização Mundial da Saúde. Bioensaios de garrafas para mosquitos adultos fêmeas foram conduzidos seguindo o protocolo do CDC para deltametrina e malation. A população de Aedes aegypti da cidade de Pedro Juan Caballero, apresentou baixa resistência ao temefós (RR95: 3,18). Nos bioensaios com mosquitos adultos (detecção da frequência fenotípica de resistência) a população de Aedes aegypti de Pedro Juan Caballero apresentou resistência ao inseticida deltametrina (84% de mortalidade aos 30 minutos de exposição) e suscetibilidade ao inseticida malation (100% de mortalidade em 30 minutos de exposição). Estes resultados serão fundamentais para a tomada de decisão quanto ao uso de inseticidas na cidade de Pedro Juan Caballero pelos responsáveis dos programas de controle do vetor.
