MORTALIDADE EM DOMICÍLIOS INDÍGENAS TIKUNA, GUARANI KAIOWÁ E KAINGANG: ANÁLISES A PARTIR DO CENSO DEMOGRÁFICO 2010

No Brasil, a inclusão da categoria “indígena” no quesito que investiga a cor ou raça da população entrevistada pelos censos ocorreu na edição de 1991. Em 2010, o censo perguntou primeira vez sobre etnias declaradas pelos indígenas. Além do pertencimento segundo cor ou raça, a ocorrência de mortes também foi investigada para todos os domicílios através do questionário básico (Universo). Analisar a ocorrência de óbitos em domicílios indígenas com foco nas etnias com maiores contingentes absolutos de população (Tikuna, Guarani Kaiowá e Kaingang) registradas no Censo 2010. Os dados são oriundos do Censo 2010 (Universo), consultados através do Banco Multidimensional de Estatísticas (IBGE). Foi atribuída ao óbito a mesma “cor ou raça” da pessoa responsável pelo domicílio. Taxas brutas e ajustadas (TMG) caracterizaram a mortalidade entre as etnias com maiores valores absolutos de população: Tikuna (43,5 mil pessoas), Guarani Kaiowá (43,4 mil) e Kaingang (37,4 mil). Os resultados foram comparados entre sexos e faixas de idade em anos (0 a 19; 20 a 59 e 60 e mais). O Censo 2010 registrou 4.740 óbitos em domicílios indígenas em todo o país, sendo que 3.280 (69,2%) ocorreram nas etnias Tikuna, Guarani Kaiowá e Kaingang. Se, por um lado, a taxa de mortalidade do total de indígenas (6,7 óbitos/mil) se aproximou daquela observada para a população brasileira (5,8/mil), entre as etnias selecionadas a ocorrência de mortes foi superior ao triplo da TMG da população indígena, variando entre 22,1/mil (Kaingang) a 30,7/mil (Tikuna). As centenas de etnias indígenas oficialmente reconhecidas pelo Censo 2010 confirmaram a substancial sociodiversidade existente no Brasil, ao mesmo tempo, os dados censitários relativos à mortalidade evidenciam profundas desigualdades e iniquidades em saúde. A presente análise enfocou apenas três etnias, sendo necessário futuros estudos que abordem o conjunto mais amplo de povos indígenas no Brasil.
