CONSUMO DE ÁLCOOL EM ESTUDANTES DE DIREITO DE UMA UNIVERSIDADE PÚBLICA NO ESTADO DO RIO DE JANEIRO: UMA AVALIAÇÃO TRANSVERSAL

O álcool é uma substância psicoativa amplamente consumida no Brasil e no mundo, principalmente pelos jovens. Este consumo é responsável por um grande número de mortes e incapacidades, e, por isso, é considerado um problema de saúde pública. A entrada na universidade é um período crítico para o início ou aumento do consumo de psicoativos pelos universitários. Determinar o perfil do consumo de álcool, do sofrimento psíquico e fatores relacionados entre estudantes universitários de um curso de Direito, em uma universidade pública do município do Rio de Janeiro. Estudo transversal com 103 alunos de Direito da UNIRIO do primeiro e último ano realizado em 2017. Utilizou-se um questionário sobre hábitos de vida e características sociodemográficas, instrumentos sobre o consumo de álcool (AUDIT para o padrão de consumo e CAGE para dependência) e sofrimento psíquico (SRQ-20), além de uma pergunta para avaliar estrutura familiar e apoio social. Realizou-se análise exploratória dos dados, testes qui-quadrado de Pearson e exato de Fisher. Para avaliação de fatores associados ao uso de risco de álcool foram construídos modelos de regressão logística binomial. Para sinalizar diferenças entre anos acadêmicos, considerou-se diferenças percentuais acima de 15 pontos. A maioria dos avaliados era do sexo masculino, cor branca e sem religião. Consumo de álcool ocorreu em 97,1% e consumo prejudicial em 35,1% (AUDIT), associado com relacionamento familiar ruim (OR=2,98), assistir publicidade (OR=7,11), tabagismo (OR=8,67), uso de maconha (OR=8,07), considerar que após provas (OR=10,18) ou dia estressante de faculdade (OR=3,46) eram momentos mais propícios para uso de álcool. Dependência ocorreu em 16,7% (CAGE) e 39,8% apresentavam sofrimento psíquico (SRQ-20). A dependência estava associada principalmente à presença de sofrimento e uso de psicoativos. Consumo de risco e presença de sofrimento aumentaram consideravelmente ao compararmos primeiro e último ano. Esse estudo demonstrou o perfil de consumo álcool entre estudantes de Direito e identificou grupos mais suscetíveis ao uso abusivo e dependência. Com isso, pode-se direcionar políticas de conscientização e prevenção, como informações sobre o uso de psicoativos, incentivo à participação aos centros de suporte psicológico para ajudar a lidar com estresse e frustrações e palestras que abordem uso abusivo de álcool, para estes grupos mais expostos.
