Abstract in Portuguese
A partir dessa delimitação
Abstract
The aim of this dissertation is to analyze the formation and professionalization of the physician and psychoanalyst Marialzira Perestrello (1916-2015), one of the founders of the Brazilian Society of Psychoanalysis of Rio de Janeiro, intending to provide new subsidies to
the process of institutionalization of the psychoanalytic movement in Brazil and the history of science, under a gender bias. The chronological scope is from 1934 to 1962, ranging from her entrance in the Faculty of Medicine to her formation as a trained psychoanalyst. From this temporal delimitation, we will analyze the generation in which she was inserted, constituted
by doctors who seek in the founding of societies recognized by the IPA a way of legitimating and differentiating themselves at the psychoanalytic practice. Despite the focus on the professional dimension of Marialzira, through the concept of choral biography, we portrayed the subject as multifaceted by highlighting gender issues in her formation, since she was part of a generation of women who invested in academic careers at the beginning of the century XX, proving how this can interfere in the construction of professional trajectories. It is also evidenced that the analysis of the trajectory of Marialzira Perestrello reflects her particular
destiny and brings more general questions of the history of psychoanalysis and of the questions of gender. Therefore, the understanding of her trajectory, taking into account a certain amount of pertinent objective relations, occurred by analyzing the positions occupied by the physician and psychoanalyst, and by her network of sociability.
