OBJETIVOS: Descrever a CI de mestrandos de SP nas suas buscas por informação em saúde,
com vistas a identificar preferências e deficiências que possam servir como ponto-departida
ao planejamento de treinamentos voltados para o público da SP. MÉTODOS: No início
do ano letivo 2010, um estudo seccional envolveu alunos de SP do Institut de Santé Publique
d’Épidémiologie et de Développement (ISPED), Université de Bordeaux Segalen,
França. Dentre os 151 alunos havia mestrandos do primeiro (M1) e segundo (M2) anos, na
modalidade presencial (MP) e a distância (MEAD). Um questionário validado foi distribuído
nos formatos papel e eletrônico no início de uma disciplina obrigatória. RESULTADOS: A
taxa de resposta foi de 56,9%. Dos 86 participantes, 55 são franceses (PFs) e 31 estrangeiros
(PEs) de 18 países. 96,5% realizam buscas de informação sem auxílio e 94,1% usam o
MEDLINE/PubMed. Apenas um terço, entretanto, está satisfeito com os resultados alcançados.
DISCUSSÃO: Os 86 participantes parecem bem representar o universo dos 131 inscritos
no mestrado do ISPED. Para as respostas aos itens de CI dispostos no questionário, os resultados
nos parecem em geral positivos. Entretanto, alguns itens em particular sugerem que conhecimentos
e habilidades em CI ficam a desejar. CONCLUSÃO: Limitações na CI de estudantes
e profissionais de saúde levam à subutilização de ferramentas de busca e impropriedades
no processo, com resultados que, possivelmente, não atendem plenamente aos objetivos
da busca. Este estudo indica alguns dos elementos que deverão ser observados ao se capacitar
os mestrandos de SP do ISPED, Universidade de Bordeaux Segalen, França.
