Abstract
The unit where the hospital clothes are processed is a very important support sector within the health facilities. The diverse activities in this sector involve physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic risks for the workers. This clothing processing unit is subject to sanitary control by
the National Health Surveillance System (SNVS), as defined in Law n. 9,782, dated January 26, 1999, in view of the impacts it may cause to the health of users and workers, and to the environment. The present study aimed to evaluate the work process of a Hospital Router, a tertiary level
hospital of the Unified Health System (SUS), to identify the risks and the causal link with the disease. In this study, a Quantitative Descriptive Field Survey was used as a method, with direct observation, which aims to prove a hypothesis, the Ergonomic Work Analysis (AET) was used as a resource to understand the work process, through audio resources In addition to the questionnaire and conversation, with the actors involved, we also used fermentations such as the RULA method, used to evaluate the activities, and the CORLETT Diagram to map the painful regions of the workers. The study was carried out in the Clean and Dirty Areas where the clothes are processed, with the voluntary participation of forty-one workers, who subsidized the understanding of the work and the identification of the risks. The inadequate and unhealthy environment where the activities are being carried out, the lack of control measures by the contracting company and the contracting hospital, places the worker in a precarious situation, potentializing the identified risks, besides compromising the quality of the service, placing also at risk the physical integrity of patients users.
