O homem mantém há muitos anos o hábito de plantar seus alimentos, mas essa prática não está apenas restrita ao campo, mas também nas cidades. Mesmo num ambiente tão moderno, com prédios e concreto, é possível encontrar hortas em lajes, canteiros e até baldes. As hortas urbanas fazem parte de programas e políticas relacionados à saúde, como a Organização das Nações Unidas para Agricultura e Alimentação (FAO- FoodandAgricultureOrganization). O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar a influência da agricultura urbana na sociedade, atingindo diversas áreas da vida do indivíduo como a alimentação, a renda familiar e a saúde. A pesquisa realizada desenvolve uma revisão documental, elaborada por análise do acervo de alguns projetos e também artigos, monografias sobre o tema do estudo, presentes na literatura. A implantação de hortas nos centros urbanos influencia não só na alimentação dos envolvidos, mas também na inclusão social, a segurança e soberania alimentar dos consumidores e beneficiários dos projetos, o conhecimento tradicional que é passado entre as pessoas e a geração de empregos.Levando-se em consideração esses aspectos, entende-se a relevância da agricultura urbana e suas ações promissoras para a vida do homem, da cidade e do mundo
Resumen en ingles
Man has for many years been in the habit of planting his food, but this practice is not
only restricted to the countryside but also to the cities. Even in such a modern
environment, with buildings and concrete, it is possible to find gardens on slabs,
flowerbeds and even buckets.Urban gardens are part of health-related programs and
policies, such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
The objectiveofthisstudyistoanalyzetheinfluenceofurbanagriculture in society,
affectingseveralareasoflifeofthe individual such as food, family income andhealth.
The research developed a documentary review, elaborated by analysis of collection
of some projects and also articles, monographs on the subject of the study, present
in the literature. The implementation of vegetable gardens in urban centers
influences not only the nutrition of those involved, but also social inclusion, security
and food sovereignty of consumers and beneficiaries of the projects, traditional
knowledge that is passed between people and the generation of jobs. Considering
these aspects, we mean the relevance of urbanagriculture and their promising
actions for the life of man, city and the world.
