ASPECTOS DE FLEBOTOMÍNEOS (DIPTERA, PSYCHODIDAE) NO MUNICÍPIO DE TOCANTINÓPOLIS, ESTADO DO TOCANTINS, BRASIL

As leishmanioses no Brasil são consideradas doenças emergentes e representam um sério problema de saúde pública. Nos últimos anos, o Estado do Tocantins tem apresentado elevados índices desta doença, tanto na forma tegumentar como a visceral. Entretanto nesta região, ainda são escassas as informações sobre as espécies de flebotomíneos e sua participação nos ciclos de transmissão. O presente estudo teve como objetivo a realização de um levantamento da fauna flebotomínica de Tocantinópolis, município classificado como de transmissão intensa para leishmaniose visceral, segundo os critérios propostos pela Secretária de Vigilância em Saúde. Realizou-se coletas mensais com armadilhas CDC, durante o período de 28 meses, em três estações de monitoramento (EMs), sendo coletados 1.034 flebotomíneos Foram analisadas a abundância das espécies em três áreas do município: a zona rural, urbana e a periurbana e detectadas quatro espécies vetoras de agentes etiológicos leishmanioses. Lutzomyia (Lutzomyia) longipalpis apresentou maior distribuição na zona urbana e periurbana, enquanto Psychodopygus complexus teve maior representação na zona rural. Segundo o índice de abundância (SISA) calculado para a zona rural, urbana e periurbana, as cinco espécies mais abundantes foram: Lu. longipalpis; Sciopemyia sordellii; Psychodopygus complexus; Evandromyia (Barrettomyia) sallesi; Psathyromyia (Psathyromyia) série shannoni. As espécies apontadas como as principais participantes dos ciclos de transmissão de leishmaniose tegumentar e visceral foram Lu. longipalpis e Ny. whitmani, respectivamente. O estudo sugere a participação de Ny. whitmani no ciclo de transmissão de LTA e ainda se reforça o papel de Lu. longipalpis como vetor do agente de LVA no município de Tocantinópolis.
