saúde no grupo analisado.
Resumen en ingles
This study considers the practice of dancing as healthcare and health promotion
strategies for elderly who attend a local public day-care nursing home in the city of Rio
de Janeiro. Our theoretical framework involves authors that discuss the main features of
contemporary society that induces social exclusion and isolation on elderly people. We
also located the health promotion debate using a broad perspective of healthcare
concept. So, we based the study mainly on Canguillem and Winnicott. For the dance
chapter, we articulate subjects from dance theory, philosophy and psychoanalysis, like
José Gil and, again, Winnicott. In general, the study aims to investigate how dancing
works in the daily life of dance students; if the activity promotes the awakening of a
bragging, sensitive and creative body. We also analysed the interactive and
intersubjective dimensions and the possible psycosocial effects of group dance classes
on people. The study was designed with the qualitative method of french
psycosociology, wich its clinical analysis intends to support and investigate the
production of sense by individuals – in groups and organizations – focused on subject
and context perspectives. Participant Observation and unstructured (or open) interviews
was selected as research tools. The analysed activities were ballroom dance and gypsy
dance. We performed 10 interviews: 7 with elderly students, 2 with public
administration manager and 1 with a dance teacher. This study appoints the
vulnerability of percentual elderly people and the institucional fragility because the risk
of rupture in the publics politics. We concluded that dance shows a resistence potencial
because it induces a positive aging and promotes socialization of isolated eldery people.
Dancing also awakes the sensitive and vital aspects of the body and encourages personal
autonomy and groupal empowerment. These effects are strongly influenced by teacher´s
leadership. Nevertheless, the biomedical perspective of health remains prevailing for the
analysed group.
