One report the identification and the partial immunochemical characterization of Schistosoma haematobium species-specific-antigens recognized by murine monoclonal antibodies. The monoclonal antibodies were produced in Balb/C mice immunized with soluble egg antigens, intraperitonealy. This work shows the identification of ^ haematobium epitopes which are species-specific and that only could be detected in the parasite eggs therefore being stage-specific too. The comparison of partial amino acid sequence from two tryptic peptides of the antigenic bands recognized by monoclonal antibody 2D14E8 on nitrocellulose paper disclosed, In both peptides, an homology to heat-shock or stress protein 70 in several animal species, including the man and the S. mansoni.
