decorrentes do preconceito e do estigma social.
do texto.
The LGBT population, due to the non-adequacy of gender to biological sex or heteronormative
sexual identity, has historically been subjected to situations of vulnerability due to prejudice
and social stigma. In order to face the challenges posed by the worsening health of this
population, the Ministry of Health acknowledged that sexual and gender identity are
constituents of a complex process of discrimination and exclusion and launched in 2011, in
response to the demands of social mobilization, the National Policy of LGBT Comprehensive
Health. The study aimed to analyze the access and quality of Integral Care to the health of
lesbian, bisexual, transsexual and transvestite women in Basic Health Care in the city of Recife.
This was a qualitative and quantitative descriptive study, developed through workshops with
lesbian, bisexual, transsexual and transvestite women attending SUS and the application of a
socio-demographic questionnaire. For the descriptive analysis of the questionnaires, the
software excel 2010 and SPSS version 22.0 were used. The analysis of the workshops was done
using the discourse analysis method, since it works with the meaning and not with the content
of the text. The results of the questionnaires show that most lesbians identify in the gender as
female, sexual orientation as lesbian, do not participate in social movement and have education
with higher education. However, most transsexual women and transvestites have a high school
diploma, identify themselves with heterosexual sexual orientation, and signify the category
"woman" as gender identity. The analysis of the workshops points out as the main difficulties
in access to integral health and in the quality of care provided are prejudice, discrimination,
lack of information and lack of preparation of health professionals, when they refuse to
recognize the specificities of these people and potentiate those users of health services.
