A ideia de portas abertas de instituições, universidades, escolas, tendas armadas em praças, ou mesmo teatros, auditórios, parques, por onde a Ciência é desenvolvida, ensinada, encenada, discutida; e o convite ao público para vir, ver, refletir e apropriar-se de saberes que o torne mais “avisado” no sentido dito pelo filósofo francês Michel de Montaigne em sua obra Ensaios, publicado em 1580, faz da Semana de Ciência e Tecnologia um evento que transpõe espaço e tempo, e marca cada um que dela participa. Se pudermos imaginar um caleidoscópio de fotografias originadas nos 654 municípios, onde aconteceram 16.110 diferentes atividades, podemos abrir imagens que se desdobram em cores, formas, cintilando céus pelas lentes de telescópios, ampliando organelas, membranas, genes, pétalas, pistilos e asas diáfanas que se fazem cenários à luz dos microscópios e vão engendrando ideias, sorrisos, unindo mãos, desejos e canções, gerando ondas de propagação que, como as marés, ficarão na memória, indo e vindo em novos projetos, planos, criações. Isso é o que nos desperta a cada ano, a cada dia, em uma nova onda de criatividade para desenvolver as mostras interativas, deixando-nos provocados pelos temas sempre relevantes e pelo desejo de sensibilizar crianças, jovens, adultos e idosos, que são nossos coadjuvantes e dão sentido a tudo que preparamos, movidos pelo entusiasmo de compartilhar saberes e despertar reflexões e vocações. Um pouco do que vivemos na última edição da Semana de C & T 2011 está aqui, neste e-book, suporte multimídia que deixa entrever o coletivo de atores que se reuniram nas duas instituições parceiras, Centro de Pesquisas René Rachou (CPqRR/FIOCRUZ Minas ) e Escola de Saúde Pública de Minas Gerais (ESP-MG) para apresentar, da melhor maneira possível e com abundância de motivação, o tema da Semana em 2011, “Mudanças climáticas, desastres naturais e prevenção de risco”, naquilo que vem ao encontro do nosso compromisso de pesquisadores em Saúde Pública, comprometidos com a promoção da qualidade de vida e cidadania da população. Assim, deixamos não apenas um registro, mas estímulos para novas empreitadas e projetos, novas atividades que acendam faíscas de desejos de saber onde este material chegar, e algumas pistas estão aqui, ao longo das páginas e imagens, bem como nos roteiros de oficinas que podem ser retomadas, recriadas e inovadas. O que nos move é a ideia de multiplicar, para além da Semana e de quem dela participou, as possibilidades de outras tantas atividades para outras tantas pessoas.
