Objetivo: Descrever as características epidemiológicas dos casos de tuberculose na população privada de liberdade (PPL) de Pernambuco, entre 2011 a 2016. Métodos: Estudo epidemiológico, descritivo, de coleta retrospectiva, de corte transversal, dos casos de tuberculose na PPL em Pernambuco no período de 2011 a 2016. Resultados: Foram notificados e confirmados 4.138 casos de tuberculose dentro da PPL em Pernambuco. Predominância em jovens de sexo masculino, de idades entre 10 a 29 anos. O ensino fundamental incompleto foi a ocorrência mais elevada. A cor parda foi a mais prevalente. O aspecto pulmonar esteve quase na totalidade dos casos, seguida da extrapulmonar e pulmonar + extrapulmonar. Os casos novos obtiveram maior quantidade de notificações seguido dos casos de recidiva. No encerramento, a maioria foi de cura, seguido de transferência e abandono. Conclusão: A partir das análises realizadas, foi possível verificar que o adoecimento é determinado pelo contexto no qual o indivíduo está inserido
Abstract
Objective: To describe the epidemiological characteristics of tuberculosis cases of persons deprived of freedom in Pernambuco population from year 2011 to 2016. Methods: Epidemiological, descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional study of tuberculosis cases in PPL in Pernambuco from 2011 to 2016. Results: 4,138 cases of tuberculosis were reported and confirmed within PPL in Pernambuco. Prevalence in young people aged 10 to 29 years. The elementary school incomplete the occurrence was higher. The brown color was the most prevalent. The pulmonary aspect was almost in all cases, followed by extrapulmonary and pulmonary + extrapulmonary. Conclusion: From the analyzes performed, it was possible to verify that the illness is determined by the context in which the individual is inserted.
