O objetivo do estudo foi analisar o perfil e a distribuição espacial da mortalidade de mulheres em idade fértil no estado de Pernambuco (PE) entre 2005 e 2010.Trata-se de um estudo ecológico utilizando os municípios do Estado de Pernambuco como unidades de análise. A população do estudo foi o coeficiente de mortalidade de mulheres em idade fértil (CMMIF), residentes em Pernambuco entre os anos de 2005 e 2010. Testes de dependência espacial foram aplicados sobre coeficientes visando identificar a estrutura de correlação espacial que melhor descrevesse os dados. Utilizou-se o Índice Global de Moran e em seguida o Índice Local de Moran. Foi realizado teste de adesão à curva normal e construiu-se a matriz de correlação de Pearson para identificar possíveis associações entre indicadores socioeconômicos, demográficos e de morbidade com os CMMIF. O CMMIF médio em Pernambuco foi de 110,09 por 100.000 mulheres em idade fértil. Entre as Gerências Regionais de Saúde (GERES), a terceira teve maior coeficiente (135,23) e a segunda GERES o menor coeficiente (92,00). Morreram mais as mulheres pardas (63,81 por cento); na faixa etária de 40 a 49 anos (46 por cento); que possuíam de 4 a 7 anos de estudos (32 por cento); solteiras (65 por cento); as maiores causas foram as neoplasias, as doenças do aparelho circulatório e as causas externas. Os resultados obtidos permitem concluir que em Pernambuco as áreas de risco para a mortalidade de mulheres em idade fértil, é a Zona da Mata Sul, o Agreste Central e o Sertão de Itaparica

Theaim of the studywas to analyze thespatial distributionandmortalityofwomen of
childbearing agein the state ofPernambuco(PE) between 2005and 2010. This isan ecological
