Abstract
Know the epidemiological profile of a certain disease is fundamental for health actions. Thus, health information systems that presents quality data helps to take decisions and shows the problems impacts. This work has evaluated the data completeness and consistency as well the pesticides poisoning health profile in the state of Pernambuco between 2008 to 2012 based on the following information systems: Pernambuco Toxicological Assistance Center, Information System for Notifiable Diseases and Mortality Information System. The data have shown incompleteness and inconsistency of informations. According to profile the cases affect more frequently females in the morbidity profile and males had a higher mortality. The poisoning was more frequent among young adults with low education. Considering the circumstances most of the cases are suicide attempts, acute cases and non-related to work. Despite underreported cases the data show that persons working in agriculture are more commonly affected. Strengthening of information systems is required to generate consistent information that creates heath policies for the groups involved.
