The main goals of pharmacovigilance are to promote the rational and safe use of medications, assessment and communication of risks and benefits of medicines in the market and the education and information of patients. The researchers, health professionals, pharmaceutical companies, regulatory bodies, policy makers, patients and the general public all have their own complementary roles to play in the evaluation activities, detecting, understanding and prevention of adverse events. Among the important issues related to pharmacovigilance one may mention the information, communication and sharing it more broadly. The present work aims to optimize the pharmacovigilance information system of Bio-Manguinhos by creating a search strategy in bibliographic databases, aiming at the post-marketing safety of vaccines against yellow fever, TVV, Hib, DTP- Hib, meningococcal A and C and polio biopharmaceutical recombinant human erythropoietin and interferon alpha. The bibliographic search comprised complete scientific articles in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French published in magazines or journals from January 2006 to July 2012 (except only for human alpha-interferon from January 2010 to July 2012) The bibliographic sources used in electronic searches were: MEDLINE via the PubMed interface, LILACS, SCOPUS and WEB of SCIENCE. From the articles we have extracted information about the author, journal, country of the study, the article title, adverse events related to the products of interest, producing industry, population characteristics (sample, age, gender). After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 53 articles were obtained for the yellow fever vaccine, 60 for TVV, 8 articles for Hib vaccine, 9 items for DTP-Hib, 25 for the polio vaccine, Articles 57 for erythropoietin and 80 for interferon alpha. The articles will be analyzed later by the Pharmacovigilance core of Clinical Advisory Unit (Asclin/Bio-Manguinhos). Information extracted from this study will be inserted into the system of Pharmacovigilance Asclin through tool Enterprise Content Management (ECM). So it will be possible to expand and improve the monitoring of information security contributing to the improvement of product quality Bio-Manguinhos.
