Abstract in Portuguese
campo, no Brasil.
busca do direito à saúde.
Abstract
This research investigated the health Tiradentes settlement, linked to the Rural Workers
Landless Movement and located in Mari, Paraiba. From an expanded health reference, the
constituent components of health in the settlement were identified, prioritized, investigated and
analyzed. The research consisted of a case study and had the historical and dialectical
materialism as methodological foundation. The thesis begins with a literature review of the
terms that make up the health field: the history of the concept of health in the West; the
construction of the term "field" by MST education sector; the health theme of the path in the
MST and its relationship with the public health and finally, a brief systematization of public
health policies for the rural population in Brazil. Then a literature review on the agrarian
question, the struggle for land and the trajectory of the MST was held in the floodplain of
Paraiba, a region where is located the Tiradentes settlement. The history and organization of
the community were also reviewed and systematized. So focused on the research and analysis
of the health of Tiradentes settlement, since its occupation by April 2016. The data were
collected through documentary analysis, participant observation and interviews with
semiestruturas settlers who were local leaders or PHS users, professionals ESF and
representatives of municipal management. The conditions of life and health of the camp period
and the settlement were systematized, identifying that access to land is the main determinant
in improving community health. We conducted a historical review of the struggle waged by
the settlers in search of the right to health. The ESF is the main public health policy identified
in the territory, however, with great difficulty of access, resoluteness, fairness and integrity.
Finally, the popular care practices were highlighted, in particular medicinal plants; the major
role they play in health care for the rural population, despite the indifference and discrimination
from health professionals and the public authorities. It was concluded that this is a praxiological
experience Field Health, built by the MST and its members, but still faces many limitations
and difficulties, which can only be addressed in a context of struggle of the entire working class
of the field and the city.
