Suicídio é o ato intencional de matar a si mesmo. O suicídio é considerado pelo Ministério da Saúde como um problema de saúde pública. Sua causa mais comum é um transtorno mental e/ou psicológico que pode incluir depressão, transtorno bipolar, esquizofrenia, alcoolismo e abuso de drogas. Dificuldades financeiras e/ou emocionais também desempenham um fator significativo. Mais de um milhão de pessoas cometem suicídio a cada ano, tornando-se esta a décima causa de morte no mundo. Trata-se de uma das principais causas de morte entre adolescentes e adultos com menos de 35 anos de idade. Entretanto, há uma estimativa de 10 a 20 milhões de tentativas de suicídios não-fatais a cada ano em todo o mundo. Alguns sinais de que uma pessoa pode estar considerando cometer suicídio: mudança de comportamento; discurso sobre a morte; não enxerga mais possibilidades no futuro; planeja a divisão de bens; faz cartas de despedida; e provoca automutilação. A apresentadora Yasmine Saboya conversa sobre o tema com Centro de Valorização da Vida, Patrícia Fantesa; com o advogado, Francisco Picozzi; e com o psiquiatra, Sandra Fortes.
