O presente estudo teve como objetivo principal determinar o perfil antropométrico e de pressão arterial em escolares do ensino fundamental de colégios públicos e particulares de 6 a 11 anos de idade do município de Raposa-MA. A amostra foi constituída de 330 escolares sendo 139 do sexo masculino e 191 do sexo feminino. Os dados foram obtidos mediante a avaliação antropométrica de peso, altura, circunferência da cintura e pressão sanguínea, IMC também foi avaliado e utilizou-se como ponto de corte para sua classificação os percentis 85 e 95, enquanto o ponto de corte para pressão arterial sistólica e diastólica foram os percentis 90 e 95. Foi encontrada uma prevalência de hipertensão arterial de 2,2 por cento para os meninos e de 1,6 por cento para as meninas, no entanto, destaca-se a prevalência de ambas (pré/hipertensão) no setor público como estatisticamente significativo. Foi observada a prevalência de sobrepeso e obesidade de 12,9 por cento e 11,5 por cento entre os meninos e meninas respectivamente. Conclui-se que as prevalências encontradas neste estudo foram semelhantes aos estudos nacionais e que as crianças obesas/sobrepeso tiveram significativa prevalência de pressão arterial elevada, o que aponta para a necessidade de elaboração de programas voltados para a reeducação alimentar de crianças por parte dos órgãos de saúde pública e das escolas.
Abstract
This study aimed to determine the profile anthropometric and blood pressure in primary school students from public and private schools 6-11 years old Raposa-MA municipality. The sample consisted of 330 students and 139 male and 191 female. Data were obtained by anthropometric measurements of weight, height, waist circumference and blood pressure, BMI was also evaluated and used as the cutoff point for classification percentiles 85 and 95 as the cutoff point for high blood pressure systolic and diastolic percentiles were 90 and 95. A prevalence of hypertension of 2.2 percent was found for boys and 1.6 percent for girls, however, highlights the prevalence of both (pre / hypertension) in the public sector as statistically significant. It was observed the prevalence of overweight and obesity of 12.9 percent and 11.5 percent among boys and girls respectively. We conclude that the prevalence found in this study were similar to national studies and obese children / overweight had significant prevalence of high blood pressure, which points to the need to draw up programs for nutritional education of children by the organs public health and schools.
