A Revista destaca a importância da Conferência Nacional de Saúde e como a intersetorialidade nas políticas públicas emergiu como um conceito central nas propostas aprovadas. A matéria aborda a análise dos efeitos do modelo de desenvolvimento predominante nos países pobres, destacando condições precárias de trabalho e cortes de investimento público, semelhantes ao Brasil. O desafio do financiamento da área social é exemplificado pela "novela" da regulamentação da EC 29, que demorou mais de quatro anos no Congresso Nacional, apesar das pressões dos sanitaristas. O acordo final não atendeu totalmente às expectativas, pois não incluiu o percentual de 10% da receita corrente bruta da União para a saúde. A edição também aborda temas polêmicos, como a normatização do uso de animais em pesquisas e o debate sobre o filme "Tropa de Elite." O texto menciona a habilidade do ministro da Saúde em lidar com a mídia, mas destaca que a intersetorialidade nas políticas públicas não recebeu a devida atenção em sua estratégia de comunicação.
