A partir deste número, a revista Radis será enviada mensalmente a cada um dos 5.585 conselhos estaduais e municipais de saúde do país, com ampliação de tiragem patrocinada pela Secretaria de Gestão Estratégica e Participativa do Ministério da Saúde. Para o aperfeiçoamento de nossa mala direta, contamos com o retorno dos conselheiros informando qualquer dificuldade no recebimento. A edição de janeiro se destaca por sua extensão e riqueza de informações sobre saúde, principalmente saúde coletiva. O tema principal é o Controle Social, destacando a importância da ação organizada dos diversos segmentos da população na formulação de políticas de saúde. A revista aborda aspectos e debates relacionados a essa temática, em preparação para a 13ª Conferência Nacional de Saúde. Além disso, discute o estado da Reforma Sanitária, a prevenção da AIDS e outras doenças sexualmente transmissíveis, a vulnerabilidade das mulheres e dos pobres a essas doenças, e os direitos dos idosos. Há também um artigo sobre a obesidade no Brasil, relacionada às influências do mercado e da mídia. Esta edição comemora os 25 anos de atividade do Programa RADIS e inclui uma entrevista com Sergio Goes, o idealizador do projeto.
