Abstract
In this paper we meant to examine the experience of seropositive Herbert Daniel (1946-992), a leading political activist who worked for the right of those who became AIDS patients in Brazil. Having specific time frame as the years between 1989 and 1992, years in which Daniel lived with HIV – although, to be able to contextualize the research object, we set up an AIDS story from 1983, when the first cases of the disease in Brazil and 1996, when government began to be distributed to triple therapy in the country – we seek to show that this individual has interacted with the dominant conceptions about that illness and who got sick of it, while the advent of seropositivity marked continuities and ruptures in their social trajectory.
