Este trabalho tem por objetivo demonstrar como os curandeiros de etnia negra, branca e indígena foram inseridos na ordem colonial que se instalou na Capitania do Grão-Pará setecentista e foram se incorporando à América portuguesa, entre meados século XVIII até o início do século XIX, através de suas práticas curativas. Busca também demonstrar como esses personagens reinventaram e rearticularam os padrões religiosos europeus, africanos e indígenas de práticas de cura, na tentativa de imprimir sentido ao seu processo de inserção
Abstract
The objective of this work is to demonstrate how African, Indian and white healers were inserted in the colonial order in 17th century in captaincy of Grão -Pará, and were incorporated in the new Christian world, between 18th century and early 19th century, by their healing practices. It also seeks to demonstrate how these characters reinvented and rearticulated the european, african and indian religious pattern of healing practices, in the intent of imprint their sense to their insertion process.
