This dissertation analyzes the process of organization of the first systematic actions of cancer control and structuring of cancerology in Ceará, between the years 1940 and 1960. The aim is to discuss the relationship between the actions and the joints of a group of doctors seeking the systematization of anticancer actions in the state, stressing their joints with internal and external allies to physicians. In this sense, I investigated the documentation for history of medicine and public health in Ceará, highlighting the publication Ceará Médico, bibliography and biography produced by these characters on / in the period studied and other sources related to cancer control path as decree-laws, institutions, reports, minutes of meetings, speeches by doctors and thesis defended at the Faculdade de Medicina do Ceará. I argue that the mobilization of cancerologists for cancer control and the organization of his practice consisted of a group agenda, with the goal of these characters to define a place of action for cancerology in Ceará and in designing local initiative as part of networks conformation in Brazil during the period, joining the national campaign against cancer. The conclusion of this work is that the initiative of cancerologists was able to change the disease status of a group agenda for a medical and social issue relevant, although far from being a priority of the state public health in the late 1950s.
