A Política Nacional de Atenção Integral em Reprodução Humana Assistida (PNRHA), propõe ampliar o acesso dos casais inférteis às ações para o tratamento da infertilidade, por meio de serviços de Reprodução Humana Assistida no Sistema Único de Saúde. Objetivou-se analisar a PNRHA, na perspectiva de gênero, a partir da reflexão sobre a integralidade no cuidado em saúde dos casais inférteis. Utilizou-se a abordagem qualitativa, com triangulação metodológica e dados coletados por entrevistas semiestruturadas e fontes documentais. Para análise dos dados utilizamos a condensação de significados, análise de conteúdo e o Modelo Operacional de Análise de Políticas Públicas. Conclui-se, entre outras questões, que o Ministério da Saúde ao instituir a PNRHA assume o compromisso de orientar ações voltadas para o acesso universal e integral à saúde reprodutiva, ao regulamentar normativas para garantir aos casais inférteis ações de saúde voltadas para à concepção, com preocupações amplas acerca da garantia ao planejamento reprodutivo/familiar de mulheres e homens, os direitos das pessoas que convivem com HIV/Aids e a adoção. Entretanto, algumas diretrizes da Política são 'engessadas' e heteronormativas, restringindo o acesso de pessoas que desejam ter filhos e não se enquadram no perfil de público-alvo da Política, ferindo o princípio da integralidade do cuidado em saúde, ao adotar 'heteronormas' em seu conteúdo e prática. As questões de gênero ficaram evidentes nas Diretrizes, reafirmando o lugar dos homens como 'não-sujeitos' dos direitos reprodutivos e sim um apêndice aos procedimentos/ações do tratamento da infertilidade/esterilidade. As mulheres são o foco das políticas maternalistas e as principais beneficiárias da PNRHA, que como tal acabam sendo penalizadas pela transformação de um direito em 'obrigações femininas', necessitando romper com a fragmentação/reducionismo e objetivação desse sujeito de direitos reprodutivos, na busca pela a maternidade (AU)
