Solidago chilensis Meyen é uma espécie natural do Chile, com distribuição na América do Sul, incluíndo o Nordeste, o Centro Oeste, o Sudeste e o Sul do Brasil. Sua utilização baseada na tradição popular aumenta de modo crescente, sendo suas inflorescências e raízes empregadas como anticefalálgico, no tratamento de contusões, como anti-inflamatória, principalmente como espécie sucedânea à espécie exógena, Arnica montana l., de onde advém sua sininímia popular, arnica do Brasil. Flavonóides, diterpenos labdânicos e clerodânicos, saponinas, carotenóides, taninos, entre outras substâncias são descritas para o gênero Solidago.

Solidago chilensis Meyen is a natural species in Chile, with distribution in South America, including the Northeast, Midwest, Southeast and Southern Brazil. Its use increases every day, based on folk tradition, and inflorescences and roots are used mainly in the treatment of inflammatory conditions. This species is used as a substitute for exogenous species, Arnica montana L. , from which it derives its popular synonym arnica, Brazil. Flavonoids, labdânicos and clerodane diterpenes, saponins, carotenoids, tannins and other substances are described for the genus Solidago.
