Resumen en portugues
A intensa participação da família no acompanhamento a pacientes com câncer, associada às dificuldades do médico no processo de comunicação de más notícias, interfere na participação do doente enquanto sujeito se seu processo de adoecimento e morte. Objetivos: Identificar a participação da família no acompanhamento aos pacientes com câncer, conhecendo a visão do familiar a respeito do processo de revelação do diagnóstico e do prognóstico da doença e d a relação médico-paciente, e analisar criticamente as implicações éticas d as condutas adotadas pelo médico responsável e pela família a partir do referencial teórico da ética das virtudes.
