Resumen en portugues
Este artigo discute as representações de corpo e gênero articuladas
ao uso de substâncias anabolizantes nos meios de comunicação.
Para isso, tomou-se como objeto o material jornalístico publicado
no ano de 2010, disponível no acervo institucional da Fundação
Oswaldo Cruz, no Rio de Janeiro. O material analisado indicou
que o imperativo do corpo forte se faz presente como o mote para
o uso de anabolizantes, tanto para homens como para mulheres, e
que, nesse movimento, os jornais e revistas desempenham papel
significativo na disseminação de uma corporalidade hiperviril.
