Abstract in Portuguese | Este estudo objetivou analisar os atendimentos antirrábicos humanos por agressão
| en_US |

Abstract | This study aimed to analyze human anti-rabies care due to wild animals’ aggression in
the First Health Region of Pernambuco, from 2014 to 2021. Data were collected from
895 records notified in SINAN. Only one case of human anti-rabies care by wild animal
agression was reported in 2021. The age group between 20 and 49 years was the
most affected, as well as brown people. The distribution by sex was homogeneous.
Accidents occurred mainly due to biting, in the hands and feet and with the
characteristic of a single and superficial wound, with bats being the main aggressor
(47.5%). About 81% of the consultations received an indication of adequate post exposure prophylaxis in the first consultation, but in some cases the pacient needed
to seek a second consultation. The search for improvements in the offer of appropriate
prophylaxis and the intensification of surveillance of human rabies by wild animals in
the region is recommended. | en_US |
