Abstract
The current mood of effervescence over the debate about the decriminalization of women and the legalization of abortion has taken all of Latin America, including Brazil. Favorable occasion for feminist movements, vanguard of the struggle for the right to safe and legal abortion, in the scope of state policies and public health. These are times of highlighting and denouncing the range of rights violations, also explaining patriarchal-racist-capitalist exploitation and domination over women, an essential condition for maintaining this system. Thus, in order to contribute to the debate, the objective of this research is to identify the ideopolitical conceptions of the Brazilian Women's Arrangement (WB), the World March of Women (WMW) and the Peasant Women's Movement (MMC) on decriminalization and legalization of abortion in Brazil, in contemporary times. We seek to investigate and understand the historical construction of feminist social struggles regarding abortion, as well as to problematize abortion and violence against women, seeking to identify the current challenges of the fight for decriminalization and legalization of abortion in Brazil. We consider that the discussion about abortion involves the socio-historical construction of the social relations of production and reproduction of capital, and are also directly associated with the human, individual, sexual and reproductive rights of women. For the materialization of the study, we adopted the qualitative research, of the argumentative-essay type and the bibliographical and documentary research (as technical procedures). We used seven electronic sites as sources of access to documents, considering the period between 2013 and 2017 for the analysis of these. We note that the struggle for the reproductive rights of women and the legalization of abortion are historical flags of the feminist movement, which are claimed through the struggle to end gender oppression and to combat violence against women. For feminist movements, the problem of abortion is assumed, above all, as a public health issue that pervades women's physical and psychological-mental well-being. We note that beyond the human right dimension, the struggle for safe and legal abortion within the Unified Health System means and represents the struggle for sovereignty, autonomy, freedom and feminine emancipation, contemplating the free expression of sexuality and the end of capitalist sociability. We conclude that the current conjuncture of offensive to the working class, especially women with setbacks and dismantling of rights, determine limits and challenges for the fight for the decriminalization of women and legalization of abortion as well as for feminism.
