Abstract | A controversy still exists regarding to cured patients because long term is required for seroreversion of the conventional serological tests (IF, ELISA, IHA) after etiologic treatment, even in patients with negative parasitological tests. Further the NCST-non-conventional serological tests (CoML - Complement Mediated Lysis and FC-ALTA-anti-live trypomastigotes antibodies by flow cytometry) were standardized with the objective of early determination of therapeutic efficacy. Nowadays, new approaches less expensive and of easy handling have beet I carried out using novel antigenic preparations (analogue to 160kDa protein recognized by the antibodies of the NCST) adapted to the conventional serology devices. Authors discuss if it is necessary to wait for the seroreversion of conventional serology to attest the post-therapeutic cure in Chagas disease. | en_US |
