Abstract | In a mother's two successive pregnancies, the products of conception, a liveborn premature infant and a 6-month abortion, infection with
toxoplasma organisms was shown. Where severe maceration of the fetus makes identification of toxoplasma organisms difficult, two tissues in particular should be examined histologically: (1) chorion of placenta and umbilical cord, where toxoplasma trophozoites and pseudocysts
tend to be abundant; (2) fetal adrenals, where characteristic necrotic and calcified foci, as well as toxoplasma organisms, may persist. | pt_BR |
