Abstract
The School Health Program aims to integrate and permanent articulation of
education and health, providing improved quality of life of the population, contributing
to the integral formation of students through health promotion, prevention and health
care, with view to fighting the vulnerabilities that compromise the full development of
children and youth education network. A school system engaged with health and
education transforms the lives of citizens addressing topics aimed at developing the
whole person and thereby contribute to adopt healthier lifestyles. Education and
Health are dimensions of human life, usually separate, but they need to stay together
forever. Usually you leave the health dimension for professionals and education is
forgotten or relegated to the school. And with that, in general, the population is
unhealthy and uneducated, because within that reasoning people in everyday life,
families, day-to-day need not worry nor with the preservation of health or to
education, because for that there are specific professionals. People are growing up
without education because often families do not have time for their children. And, for
lack of time, not teach them: the values of sociability, mutual respect, the values of
the study, the physical and mental discipline, basic standards of preventive health,
including the hygiene and good nutrition. And not to receive these, and others, the
rudiments of education, people are coming to school with many deficiencies. The
PSE seeks to establish conditions for the integration of education activities and
health and institutional links between the various actors involved in the three spheres
of government as well as provide a gradual accession of schools with the Family
Health Units.
